SONG ONE: Refugee Soul: This song was created with a James Taylor-style guitar finger-picking style. I love the fluid folk flow of JT’s playing, but also its syncopation. And James Taylor writes about people who struggle but overcome, people out in the world (“Walking down a CountryRoad…)

SONG THREE: LIGHT OF THE MOON: I wanted to create a sweet pretty country song , something Emmie Lou Harris would sing.

SONG FOUR: MISSING PEACE:

This is a song dedicated to VAN MORRISON. Frankie Mooney’s three-part sax harmonies remind me so much of his blend of RnB and blues, a Celtic Soul.

SONG SIX: THE REFUGEES

I wanted this song to be something that Bruce Springsteen would sing with his band. The big doo-doo chorus would be something everyone would sing along to.

And I feel that the closer we can feel to refugees, the more we can humanize the situation, so that we can welcome our fellows rather than fear them.
